The Show

The show is the core element of the project. It is a specially commissioned work of installation theatre that is designed to entertain and stimulate the inquisitive minds of the audience so that the process of learning extends beyond the show into one or more of the other project elements.

The audience will be recruited as Space Cadets by Quantum, a time travelling cyborg,. The Cadets will help Quantum test out his hot new leisure and entertainment activity, Space Circus, which he is hoping to franchise across the universe. But is this the real reason for Quantum's visit to earth...? The show will be delivered in three inflatable indoor pods. Each POD will have a theme which will be used to highlight key national curriculum concepts and encourage further study as well as providing essential clues:

  • POD 1 - Lunar Hotel
  • POD 2 - Starship Diversity
  • POD 3 - Europa Laboratory

The story line has links to the following national curriculum units:

3e, 4c, 4d, 4f, 5a, 5e, 5f, 6a, 6b, 6c, 6d, 6e, 6f, 6g, 7a, 7e, 7j, 7k, 7l, 8a, 8c, 8k, 8l

Combined with music and lighting the PODs will transform the environment in which they are 'installed'.
