As a recipient of public funds we are required to provide evidence of the extent to which the project has met its aims and objectives
In doing so the principles of the logic model have to be applied since the lifespan of the project is shorter than the period of time required for the majority of pupil beneficiaries to obtain KS3/GCSE examination results or make FE/HE subject and career choices.
The logic model approach uses short term indicators as predictors of long term outcomes. Please click here for a list of quantitative and qualitative data requirements that will be used in the evaluation of the project. We are sensitive to the issues of data protection and are happy to discuss ways in which the supplied data can be anonymised.
Pre Interventions
For each pupil in the target year groups we will collect their most recent SAT result and predicted SAT result for the next Key Stage.
Each pupil will also complete a science based psychometric perception survey.
Post Intervention(s)
For each pupil in the target year groups we will collect either their latest predicted SAT result or their actual SAT result if available.
Each pupil will retake the survey to determine if there have been any changes in their perceptions of science.
A number of focus groups will be conducted to obtain first hand feedback from beneficiaries.
